While the weather is as good as it has been finding things to do outdoors is a must. The August Bank Holiday in London promises to be another hot affair. Why not get yourself down to The Scoop and sample great outdoor entertainment?
The Scoop has an ideal riverside location and there is enough space for 800 people to picnic comfortably. The amphitheatre is brilliant at this time of year with its London Free Festival which has gained rave reviews for its calibre of performances.
This theatre venue is popular though, so if it is a nice night get there early to avoid disappointment.

The exhibition will answer the question: What makes a Londoner?
They have unearthed a selection of images from the past hundred years or so by scouring the vast archives of Getty Images. The result is a great collection of images from 1900-1990 with a look at the capital’s inhabitants as well as its heroes and heroines through the ages including Michael Caine, Peter Sellers, Kenneth Williams and the Sex Pistols.
But the main emphasis is on the ordinary people doing what Londoners do.
The exhibition at London’s largest independent photo gallery has proved popular so far and it will run until Saturday 12th September, so make sure you get to the Getty Images Gallery as soon as possible.
An accompanying book is published by Time Magazine.
The nearest tube stop to the gallery is Oxford Circus.

If you want to go see a mixture of magic, acrobats and optical illusions in London, then you don’t want to miss seeing Victoria Chaplin (Charlie’s daughter!) and Jean-Baptiste Thierree’s show this summer.
The Le Cirque Invisible show, which opened to critical acclaim on Tuesday 4th of August, is still showing at the Southbank Centre – which is a lottery-funded arts venue. It is on until Sunday 23rd of August, so if you do want to go and see it, you’ll have to be quick.
The exquisite theatrical spectacle, which will entertain adults and children alike, has been highly praised by The Times, Metro and the London Evening Standard among others.
Warhol’s Michael Jackson portrait to go live today at O2

An Andy Warhol portrait of Michael Jackson from back in 1984 went on show today at the British Music Experience at The O2 arena in London.
The portrait is due to be auctioned off in New York in only three days time, so if you want to catch a glimpse of it, you need to visit the interactive exhibition of popular music, situated within the venue which was where Michael Jackson was to perform his ill-fated comeback concerts.
The piece was originally commissioned to celebrate the King of Pop’s world record breaking sales of the Thriller album and it has now been added to the British Music Experience’s collection for the next two days. So, get there fast if you want to catch a glimpse of it.
Twitgigs Experiment to launch in London this Thursday

The Twitter platform is renowned for its social interaction between members who can update their friends and discuss any hot topics currently in the news. Now, Twitter has decided to take a step into the unknown and provide a live music event to cater for London’s music lovers.
The event is supported by the Smirnoff Night Vision initiative and will take place at the Vibe Bar, The Old Truman Brewery on Thursday 6th August and will be featuring a battle of the bands competition, on-screen live twitter feeds, and number of music-related giveaways on the night.
The line up includes Essay Like Nephew, Mike Dignam and The Seal Club Clubbing Club.
